Banana bread baking
CONNECT’s first, incredibly successful, event was a banana bread baking activity. We gathered a few of our volunteers to come bake banana bread with the senior citizens so that they could enjoy a bonding experience while enjoying delicious treats!

Virtual Webinar
CONNECT hosted a week-long technology session which consists of a variety of one-on-one seminars. Many senior citizens don’t have any knowledge on how to use the technology surrounding them, and these sessions greatly improves their abilities in this field. We also knew the senior citizens were enjoying this event when more and more of them began requesting for one-on-one sessions!

Superbowl Scattergories
CONNECT’s Superbowl scattergories activity is to boost excitement about the game between the highly supported Eagles and forgotten Chiefs, we gathered the senior citizens in a room to sharpen their memory skills while playing an engaging game. It was incredibly gratifying to see the seniors get more and more into the game as they started shouting out the answers in order to win.

Valentines Day Party
Connect hosted a Valentine’s Day party at the Juniper Senior Living Center! We provided an assortment of sweet treats such as pink donuts, cupcakes, and cookies. Alongside the refreshments, we arranged activities during the party, including a dance-off and a karaoke session, which garnered large amounts of positive feedback and excitement.

Bracelet Exchange
CONNECT’s created a bracelet exchange program which we plan to continue and expand. While the senior citizens have been creating and passing on bracelets to us throughout our project, we decided to gather a few of our volunteers to make colorful bracelets to pass on to THEM!

Blooming Spring
CONNECT hosted Blooming Spring, a multi-day service event where volunteers assembled colorful spring baskets filled with treats and handwritten notes. The baskets were delivered to three senior living centers to spread joy and appreciation. This event strengthened intergenerational connection and helped seniors feel valued and remembered within the community.

Little Mermen Book Fundraiser
CONNECT hosted a booth at the Plainsboro Recreation Center during the Little Mermen event, where we shared our mission and read Colors of Connection to families and community members. With over 150 attendees, this event allowed us to expand outreach, promote senior engagement, and connect with new volunteers. It was a meaningful opportunity to spread awareness while strengthening our presence in the broader community.

Chalk with friends
As part of the Resource-Care Series, CONNECT hosted Chalk With Friends at Artis Senior Living. Seniors and volunteers created colorful chalk art while engaging in conversation and collaborative creativity. The event promoted confidence, active participation, and meaningful community engagement in an inclusive outdoor setting

Fall fest
CONNECT hosted Fall Fest, a large-scale community event featuring over 20 interactive booths focused on resources, wellness, and engagement. With transportation support provided, more than 80 seniors and 50 volunteers participated. The event increased accessibility, promoted external community resources, and strengthened seniors’ confidence in independently navigating programs and opportunities.

Pumpkin Painting
Through the Resource-Care Series, CONNECT organized a Pumpkin Painting event at Bear Creek Assisted Living. Seniors decorated pumpkins alongside volunteers, combining creativity with meaningful discussion about upcoming programs and opportunities. This event promoted hands-on engagement while reinforcing confidence in participating in community initiatives.

Jewelry Making
As part of the Resource-Care Series, CONNECT hosted a Bracelet Making activity at Bear Creek Assisted Living. Seniors and volunteers created handmade bracelets while engaging in conversation and collaborative creativity. The event encouraged self-expression, fine motor engagement, and active participation in community programming.

Fraud-Free Program
In partnership with the Bank of Princeton, CONNECT hosted Fraud-Free workshops to strengthen seniors’ financial safety and awareness. Through interactive presentations and Q&A sessions, seniors learned how to recognize scams, protect personal information, and make informed financial decisions. Due to strong participation, a second session was held to expand access for residents, caregivers, and families, further promoting independence and financial confidence.

Bike Pedestrian Alliance Seminar
CONNECT partnered with the West Windsor–Plainsboro Bike Pedestrian Alliance to host a wellness and mobility seminar. Seniors learned about safe walking practices, local pedestrian resources, and physical activity opportunities to support healthy aging. Sponsored walking sticks were provided, promoting confidence, safety, and greater independence in navigating community spaces.

Robotics & Lego Workshop
As part of the Resource-Care Series, CONNECT hosted a Robotics & LEGO Workshop. Seniors and volunteers worked together on hands-on building activities that encouraged creativity, problem-solving, and collaborative learning. The workshop introduced interactive technology in an engaging format, strengthening confidence and comfort with new tools and programs.

National Honors Society- Letter making
CONNECT partnered with National Honors Society and local schools to host a large-scale letter-making drive. Over 500 letters were collected through school and public library mailboxes and delivered to seniors across multiple centers. This initiative strengthened consistent communication, reduced isolation, and expanded access to meaningful peer connection beyond in-person events.

DE-STRESS FEST
CONNECT participated in High School North’s De-Stress Fest, where over 50 students created care packages and resource materials for seniors. The event raised awareness about senior resource access while strengthening student involvement and leadership. School administrators later requested a presentation for Belonging Matters Day, expanding CONNECT’s district-wide impact.

SUPER BOWL JEOPARDY
As part of the Resource-Care Series, CONNECT hosted a Super Bowl Jeopardy event at Bear Creek Assisted Living. Seniors participated in an interactive trivia game designed to encourage teamwork, discussion, and friendly competition. The event promoted active engagement while reinforcing confidence in participating in community-based activities.
